Schwarber 'forever grateful' for Cubs, fans originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Kyle Schwarber played a big part in the Cubs' success the past six seasons, including his miraculous comeback and legendary performance in the 2016 World Series. Fans are forever grateful for the left fielder and Schwarber shares the sentiment.
Following the Cubs' decision to non-tender him on Wednesday, Schwarber tweeted a statement thanking Cubs fans for the "overwhelming support" they've had for him during his time on the North Side.
"It never got old running out to left and being able to give you guys a salute," Schwarber wrote. "It really is different at Wrigley.
"It was an absolute pleasure to go out there everyday and grind with the fellas for you guys and I'm forever grateful for my teammates, coaches, staff and the fans.
"Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Until we meet again."

Cubs president Jed Hoyer said Wednesday the team is "keeping the door open" for a potential reunion in free agency this winter. Whether he's back with the Cubs or signs elsewhere for 2021, Schwarber's place in Cubs lore is secure.
