How Sheraton celebrated 2021 Cubs Convention that never was originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Remember Cubs Convention? It's the annual winter fan festival in which the North Side faithful gather in downtown Chicago for a weekend of fun with Cubs of past, present and future.
The 2021 convention was scheduled for this weekend, Jan. 15-17, but the team canceled it last July due to COVID-19. That foresight proved to be well-founded, as the pandemic is still raging across the country today.
Even though Cubs Nation won't be gathering like recent years this weekend, the Sheraton Hotel found a way to celebrate the tradition of the convention, flying the W with illuminated rooms.
Here's to hopefully returning safely to the Sheraton next January for 2022 Cubs Convention.
