Bears running back coach Charles London looks like he'll be headed to warmer weather.

NFL.com's Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Falcons are expected to hire London as their quarterbacks coach.

London has been on Matt Nagy's staff since the 2018 season, and previously had a stint with the Bears as the offensive quality control assistant for the three seasons between 2007 and 2009.

He returned to coaching in 2011 for the Titans in a similar role, before returning to coaching running backs in 2012 with Penn State.

In 2020, David Montgomery finished tied for fifth in the NFL in rushing yards on the season with 1,070. That was behind a patchwork offensive line and a struggling offense that didn't seem committed to the run for chunks of the season.

Despite Montgomery's success, the Bears ranked 25th in the NFL last season in rushing yards per game with 102.9. The Bears were without Tarik Cohen and had special teamer Cordarrelle and wide receiver Patterson taking snaps as a running back.
