Cubs starter Yu Darvish and outfielder Jason Heyward have been nominated for 2020 Major League Baseball Players Choice Awards.

Darvish is nominated for National League Outstanding Pitcher and Heyward for Marvin Miller Man of the Year. Players hold the awards in high esteem because they conduct the voting.

For the Marvin Miller Man of the Year, players vote for the peer they "most respect based on his leadership on the field and in the community." The winner receives a $10,000 grant, and the other award recipients receive $5,000 grants. Anthony Rizzo won the award in 2017.

Heyward, who's also nominated for the 2020 Roberto Clemente Award, donated $300,000 in COVID-19 relief this season to MASK (Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killings), the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the University of Chicago Medical Center.
