The Cubs and White Sox were among 11 teams to attend free agent outfielder Yoenis Céspedes' showcase in Florida on Tuesday, according to Ken Davidoff of the New York Post.

Céspedes, 35, has played for the A's, Red Sox, Tigers and Mets across eight big league seasons following his 2012 debut. He spent 2016-20 with the Mets but only played in 316 games while missing time to injury.

Céspedes' last full season was 2016, when he hit .280/.354/.530 with 31 home runs and 86 RBIs for New York in 132 games. He opted out of the 2020 season after playing in eight games, going 5-for-34 (.161) at the plate.

The White Sox signed Yolequi Céspedes, Yoenis' half brother, during the international signing period in January. The 23-year-old was one of the top ranked prospects in the international class.

The Yankees, Blue Jays, Rays, Tigers, Brewers, Reds, Marlins, Braves and Padres also had scouts on hand at the showcase, per Davidoff's report.
