The Trevor Williams story just keeps on getting cooler.
Williams took the mound on Saturday against the Braves with his dad, Richard, in attendance. Richard has attended both of Trevor's first two starts this season, but on Saturday got to express support for his son in a new way.
Trevor gifted his dad a game-worn Cubs jersey, which Richard tweeted he's "wearing proudly" at Wrigley Field Saturday afternoon.
Richard is a diehard Cubs fan who was "over the moon" when his son signed with the North Siders in February. Trevor's first start as a Cub was straight out of a Hollywood script, as he took a perfect game into the sixth at Wrigley Field.
As Richard's tweet says: Life is a crazy journey.
