Cubs top prospect Davis to open season in minors originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The Cubs reassigned top prospect Brennen Davis to minor league camp on Friday, the club announced to reporters in Arizona.
The move was expected before Davis' anticipated assignment to Triple-A Iowa to open the season.

Davis is the Cubs' consensus top prospect and the No. 15 overall in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.

The 22-year-old is coming off a breakout 2021 season in which he reached Triple-A and was named the Futures Game MVP. He hit .260/.375/.494 with 19 home runs and 53 RBIs in 99 games between Double-Tennessee and Iowa last season.
The Cubs promoted him to Iowa last September and he hit four home runs in 15 games.
