Cubs' PA Announcer Andrew Belleson Steps Down to Pursue Broadcast Career

Cubs in market for new public address announcer originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

There's a new job opening at Clark and Addison.

Andrew Belleson, the Cubs public address announcer, revealed Tuesday he's stepping away from the position after 10 seasons.

Belleson took over as the voice of Wrigley Field in March 2011 at the age of 24. The Arlington Heights native said in a statement posted to Twitter he's stepping away to pursue a career in sports broadcasting.

As for who will take over the position, ESPN's Jesse Rogers tweeted the Cubs will look for a full-time replacement soon. Ahead of hiring Belleson in 2011, the team received 2,954 applications.

You'd have to expect there will be no shortage of interest once again.
