Cubs' Kyle Schwarber Removed From Sunday's Game Against Twins

Schwarber removed from Sunday's game against Twins originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber exited Sunday's game ahead of the top of the third inning.

Cameron Maybin replaced Schwarber in left field.

Cubs manager David Ross joined the ESPN broadcast for an interview in the bottom of the third. He was asked if there was a health update on Schwarber, who remained in the dugout.

"No, he's fine," Ross said flatly.

Twins center fielder Jake Cave hit a leadoff triple to left field in the second inning. Schwarber sprinted to his right but the ball sailed over his head. He didn't play the ball off the wall aggressively — it took a tough hop — and seemed caught off guard by Cave's aggressiveness, rounding second and going for a triple.

This story will be updated postgame.
