Cubs' Kris Bryant Offers Anthony Rizzo Drill He'll Never Forget

Bryant offers Rizzo drill he will never forget originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo know each other well.

Off the field, they’ve developed a strong friendship during their six seasons together on the North Side. On the field, “Bryzzo” consistently hit back-to-back in the Cubs’ lineup.

So, they pay attention when one has feedback for the other’s game.

“Anytime I say something to him, I know he is listening a little bit more,” Rizzo said this past Friday. “And anytime he ever says something to me, I perk up a little bit more because of our history together and our friendship.”

That played out recently, when Bryant’s advice to Rizzo paid off in a big way on the field.

Bryant discovered a drill while hitting in the cage that helped him out, he said Monday. Because he knows Rizzo’s swing so well, he passed it along to the Cubs first baseman.

“He took it into the game, and — I forget which game — but he got two hits after that,” Bryant said.

“He's like, ‘I'll remember this for the rest of my life,'" Bryant added of Rizzo's reaction.

“So that made me feel good, that I was able to help him out and kind of get him thinking in a different light.”

Just when you thought Bryzzo couldn't have a better relationship, they find a new way to remind you.
