Maybe Kris Bryant has heard some of the negative things people have been saying about him. Whether he did or not, he certainly silenced the haters on Saturday.

The Cubs third baseman returned to the lineup from an oblique ailment, having missed four straight games. After singling in his first at-bat, Bryant launched a grand slam to left field in the third inning.

The blast put the Cubs ahead 5-2, in a game that with a win, will clinch the NL Central title. It was a big swing of the bat, and Cubs fans loved it. A few Twitter reactions:

With one game after Saturday before the postseason, Bryant's offensive showing is a great sign for the Cubs. He entered play Saturday hitting .195 with five RBIs on the season.

His numbers will look a lot different by Sunday.
