Báez has words for Garrett in epic celebration after walk-off originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
There's no love lost between Javy Báez and Amir Garrett.
The Cubs shortstop came off the bench and needed one pitch to hit a walk-off single against the Reds lefty Monday night. What followed was one of the most blunt celebrations you'll ever see.
Báez stared down Garrett while walking down the first base line as his blast sailed over Jesse Winker's head in center field. He directed a few words at Garrett, rocking his bat back and forth before tossing it towards the mound.

After the Cubs finished their celebration, Báez held his pointer finger in the air, appearing to say "One pitch."
Báez and Garrett have history that dates back several seasons. The Cubs and Reds' benches cleared in 2018 after Garrett struck out Báez and directed words at him.
The benches cleared again earlier this season. Báez took exception to Garrett, after striking out Anthony Rizzo, directing a celebration at the Cubs first baseman.
This surely isn't the last chapter of this story.
