Cubs Free Agent Jon Lester Provides Meals to 400 Frontline Hospital Workers

Jon Lester continues to do great things for the Chicagoland community.

Lester, who bought over $47,000 worth of beer for Chicagoans during Halloween weekend as a way of saying thanks to fans, recently provided meals to frontline workers at Advocate Aurora hospitals.

Lester has made a big impact on Chicago the past six years, and that extends to his off-the-diamond efforts. His charity, NVRQT, works to raise awareness and funds to combat pediatric cancer. Last season, he was the Cubs' nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award for his charitable efforts.

Now a free agent, Lester and the Cubs have mutual interest in a reunion. Whether or not he returns in 2021, he'll go down as one of the best athletes in Chicago history for his work on and off the field.
