Cubs Celebrate Jon Lester With Wrigley-Themed Gifts, Video

Cubs celebrate Lester with Wrigley-themed gifts, video originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The Cubs celebrated outfielder Kyle Schwarber in his return to Wrigley Field with the Nationals on Monday.

Tuesday, it was Jon Lester's turn.

Lester started on Monday, so Tuesday made more sense to honor him without providing a distraction. As you may expect, the Cubs pulled out all the stops for their former ace, starting with a tribute video on the left field video board.

The Cubs then presented Lester with a couple of sweet Wrigley Field-themed gifts: a pair of stadium seats and a W flag, each adorned with personal messages from members of the organization.

That David Ross, Ian Happ and Anthony Rizzo presented Lester with the gifts makes the moment even more special. Lester cited the trio specifically over the weekend as some of the Cubs he's kept in contact with.

Lester later spoke fondly of Rizzo and Happ following Monday's outing. Both wore Lester-themed attire to the game.

"For [Rizzo] to do that, Happer doing the same thing with the hat and the flannel shirt," Lester said, "guys that you always keep in contact with and always root for, friends for life, it's pretty cool, pretty special."

Pretty special, indeed.
