Right fielder Jason Heyward is the Cubs' nominee for the 2020 Roberto Clemente Award, and one Chicago celebrity wanted to personally congratulate him for the honor.

Chance the Rapper shared a special message with Heyward on social media Monday night.

"You are a great example of a caring person, of an involved and motivated person, and you motivate me too," Chance said. "I wanted to say thank you for the thousands of dollars that you donated yourself, and the millions of dollars that you helped raise towards Social Works (Chance's non-profit organization).

"You've been a great help to us. Much love, you totally deserve it, bro. See you soon."

Respect. You can watch the message on Heyward's Instagram.

The Roberto Clemente Award is given to the MLB player who "best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field," per MLB.

Heyward donated a combined $300,000 to MASK (Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killings), the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the University of Chicago Medical Center in support of COVID-19 relief this season.

And, along with other Chicago athletes, Heyward met with teens and police officers at the By The Hand Club For Kids in Austin on Chicago's West Side in June for discussions on social injustice and how to create change.

The winner of the Roberto Clemente Award is annually announced at the World Series.
