Celtics' Jaylen Brown to Miss Rest of Season With Wrist Injury

Jaylen Brown to miss rest of season with wrist injury originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Jaylen Brown will not take the court for the Boston Celtics again this season.

The C's announced Monday that Brown was diagnosed with a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist and is expected to undergo surgery later this week. He has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

Losing Brown for the rest of the year is a huge blow to a Celtics team that has struggled without him recently. Brown was named to his first All-Star team this season and averaged a career-high 24.7 points through 58 games played. He missed the last three games with a right ankle sprain.

The Celtics have four games left in their regular-season schedule and will aim to avoid the play-in tournament. After Sunday's loss to Miami, Boston sits two games behind the Heat (35-33) with a seventh-place spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The C's and Heat will face off again Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
