Derrick Jones Jr. out 6-8 weeks with fractured finger originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The hits keep coming for the injury-plagued Chicago Bulls.
Tuesday evening, the team announced that Derrick Jones Jr. fractured his right finger while working out at the Advocate Center and is expected to return in six-to-eight weeks.

Jones Jr., who the Bulls acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers in August's three-team Lauri Markkanen sign-and-trade, was already sidelined with a bone contusion in his right knee suffered Jan. 12 against the Brooklyn Nets. That injury had caused seven absences so far.
Now, with a return window established between March 8-26, he could miss another 19-to-26 contests, though the team's release noted he could potentially return earlier with a protective splint. The injury is to Jones Jr.'s non-shooting hand.
The NBA Playoffs begin April 16.
Jones Jr. joins Alex Caruso, who will be re-evaluated six-to-eight weeks from Monday's surgery to address his fractured right wrist, Lonzo Ball, whose six-to-eight week return clock will begin when his right knee surgery takes place later this week, and Patrick Williams on the long-term injury shelf.
Playing for his fourth team in six NBA seasons, Jones Jr. is averaging 6.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game for the Bulls while shooting a career-best 58.2 percent.
