Bulls take lead on voter education campaign originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The Bulls are serious about voting.
After previously declaring Election Day to be a paid day off for all employees, the organization on Thursday announced several initiatives "aimed to motivate fans, players and front office staff to exercise their right to vote this Fall."
Zach LaVine, Wendell Carter Jr., Coby White, Ryan Arcidiacono and Chandler Hutchison taped public service announcements. They established fan engagement plans, including a virtual registration hub. And players and front office staff participated in a voting education session.
Perhaps most important, the Bulls, in conjunction with the United Center and their co-tenant, the Chicago Blackhawks, said they are "working with city officials to explore the possibility" of using the building as a polling location this November.
"The Bulls platform can play a big role in encouraging voting registration and turnout in the coming election," Michael Reinsdorf, the team's president and COO, said in a statement. "We want to ensure our players, front office staff and all of our fans have they information they need in order to exercise their right to vote."
