On the same Thursday night that Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant drafted him for his team in Sunday's game, a woman whom LaVine didn't know arrived at his residence and wouldn't leave when asked.
As first reported by TMZ and later confirmed by NBC Sports Chicago, it took a call to local police for the woman to leave. According to the police report, the woman asked to be taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation and she was transported to Illinois Masonic rather than being arrested. The report stated that police gave the woman a verbal warning not to return to LaVine's residence.
LaVine is scheduled to fly to Atlanta on Saturday. The NBA has strict travel protocols in place for the All-Star game because of the pandemic.
