Bob McKenzie: Blackhawks' Brent Seabrook Out With Back Injury

McKenzie: Seabrook out with back injury originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

During the first intermission of NBC Sports' broadcast of the Blackhawks' season opener against the Lightning, insider Bob McKenzie confirmed Jay Zawaski of 670 The Score's report that Brent Seabrook missed training camp due to a back injury.

McKenzie added that there's no timetable for Seabrook's return.

On Tuesday, Blackhawks president and general manager Stan Bowman said, "Hope to have him on the ice in the near future," about the veteran blueliner.

Seabrook, a three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Hawks, underwent surgeries on his right shoulder and both hips last winter and was expected to be at training camp before suffering the injury.
