Blackhawks agree to terms with first-round pick Nolan Allan originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The Blackhawks have agreed to terms with defenseman Nolan Allan on a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday. His cap hit is $870,000.
Allan was drafted by the Blackhawks with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft after Chicago traded back in the first round as part of the Seth Jones deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Allan, 18, recorded two points (one goal, one assist) in 16 games last season with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League. He also had five points (two goals, three assists) in five games while on loan with the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Swedish Hockey League and registered two points (one goal, one assist) in seven games for Team Canada at the Under-18 World Junior Championship.
Allan is slated to return to Prince Albert for the 2021-22 season where he will continue his development. The Blackhawks officially locking him up allows the organization to work with him on a deeper level throughout the campaign.
The Blackhawks are scheduled to play the Minnesota Wild on Friday and Sunday in a prospect scrimmage ahead of training camp. Allan headlines the group, along with 2021 second-round selection Colton Dach and 2020 first-round pick Lukas Reichel.
