Bears Trim Roster Down to 80-Man Limit Before Preseason Finale

Bears trim roster down to 80-man limit originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Every NFL team has to team has to trim their training camp rosters to 80 players today, and the Chicago Bears have made the following moves.

The Bears waived offensive lineman Badara Traore and Dareuan Parker. The Bears also waived running back CJ Marable. Defensive lineman Mike Pennel and safety Jordan Lucas was placed on injured reserve.

The Bears announced the Traore move this morning and the other moves were first reported by Brad Biggs, and later announced the Bears.

There is one more cut deadline on the horizon, which is a considerably bigger deal. On August 31, every NFL team needs to cut down to the 53-player roster they'll carry into the season.

That deadline comes two days after the Bears' final preseason game against the Titans.

The Bears open the season on Sunday, September 12 against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.
