Bears Safety Eddie Jackson Placed on Reserve/COVID-19 List

Bears safety Eddie Jackson placed on reserve/COVID-19 list originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The Bears were riddled with injuries heading into the bye week, and it looks like they've been dealt a blow coming out of it as well.

Bears safety and defensive leader Eddie Jackson has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Jackson could still be cleared to play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, based on the five-day minimum and testing.

Bears offensive lineman Germain Ifedi was place on the reserve/COVID-19 list and came off it between Sunday games earlier this season.

Jackson was placed on the list "due to a close contact from a person away from the team facility," per our own Adam Hoge.

So it's not too dire yet, if Jackson could not play however, it'd obviously be a huge hit to a defensive unit that was very much keeping the Bears' 2020 season alive.

Especially given the uncertainty at quarterback and whether either Nick Foles or Mitch Trubisky will be healthy.

More to come.
