Bears' Allen Robinson Doubtful Vs. Saints, Who Won't Have Michael Thomas

Allen Robinson (concussion) doubtful to play vs. Saints originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The Bears will likely be without wide receiver Allen Robinson for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Robinson is officially listed as doubtful to play with a concussion, which he suffered Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams. The Bears released an injury report earlier Friday that listed Robinson as questionable, even though he remains in the concussion protocol and has not practiced this week. That status was changed from "questionable" to "doubtful" a few hours later.

Coach Matt Nagy did say Friday, before Robinson's status was downgraded, that he could potentially play Sunday if he cleared the concussion protocol before kickoff.

"I've got to see how that goes with that whole protocol and what they say he can and can't do," Nagy said. "I mean, if he's able to pass through it and everything is good to go, of course we want home to be out there. I think that's probably the best answer for me to give you, I think all things considering the protocol. You know it's kind of our of our hands."

The Bears will already be without center Cody Whitehair (calf). Edge rusher Khalil Mack (ankle) and returner/running back Cordarrelle Patterson (quad) both were limited in Friday's practice and are questionable to play Sunday.

Not having Robinson would make a difficult task even tougher for the Bears' offense, which probably needs to pass its way to a win against a leaky Saints secondary. But the Saints will be without their No. 1 wide receiver, too: Michael Thomas was officially ruled out of Sunday's game, as was Marquez Callaway, another Saints wideout.
