2020 NHL Draft, Done Virtually, Scheduled for October 6-7

NHL schedules date for 'virtual' 2020 entry draft originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

On Friday, the NHL announced the league's 2020 draft will be held virtually from Oct. 6-7. 

The first round will begin Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. CT, with Rounds 2-7 held the next day, starting at 10:30 a.m. CT. 

The New York Rangers have the No. 1 overall pick after winning the Second Phase of the NHL Draft Lottery on Aug. 10 and are expected to select forward Alexis Lafreniere from Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the top selection.

The Blackhawks' first selection of the 2020 NHL Draft is slated to be with the No. 17 overall pick.
