White Sox Off to Best Start in Over a Decade

The Chicago White Sox generally don’t perform very well on the West Coast, but they bucked that trend this week as they took three out of four games from the Oakland Athletics to open the 2016 season.

Now, with the team returning to U.S. Cellular Field for their home opener on Friday afternoon, there is plenty of optimism from fans that the team will have a successful season, and their 3-1 record will only add fuel to that fire.

That’s because the 3-1 record the White Sox have is their best start to a season since 2005, when they won four of their first five games. Of course, White Sox fans will recognize that year as the last time that the team won a World Series championship.

The White Sox also began their 1917 championship season with a 3-1 record, ultimately winning five of their first six games in that season.
