The Chicago Cubs have made a move just before the trade deadline, acquiring reliever Brandon Kintzler from the Washington Nationals.
The Cubs grabbed the reliever less than an hour before the 3 p.m. deadline.
With Brandon Morrow out of action with an arm injury, the Cubs went out and grabbed a reliever with late-inning experience, as Kintzler racked up 28 saves last season.
He has a 1-2 record and a 3.59 ERA this season.
The Cubs will send minor league pitcher Jhon Romero to the Nationals in the trade. Romero has a 1-2 record and a 3.27 ERA in 32 relief appearances with the Class A Myrtle Beach Pelicans this season.
