The Chicago Cubs’ season came to an abrupt end earlier this month, but their players are still in contention for postseason awards, as several of the team's stars will be up for Rawlings Gold Glove awards.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who won the Gold Glove in 2016, is a finalist for the award this year, and will go up against Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto, who last won in 2011, and Freddie Freeman for the prestigious honor.

Superstar second baseman Javier Baez was also named a finalist, and he'll be looking to win the award for the first time. He'll be going up against St. Louis Cardinals infielder Kolten Wong and 2017 Gold Glove winner D.J. LeMahieu.

The Cubs got one more finalist in right field, as Jason Heyward will once again compete for the prize. Heyward has won the last four Gold Gloves in right field and five of the last six, including the 2016 and 2017 awards while playing for the Cubs.

Heyward will be going up against former Cub and current Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jon Jay and Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis. 

On the American League side of things, Chicago White Sox center fielder Adam Engel, who earned a reputation as a dominant defensive presence for the team, is a finalist for the center field award, but will have some stiff competition from Angels star Mike Trout and Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr.  

Several other Cubs, including Albert Almora Jr. and Jason Heyward, could also be listed as finalists by the company.
