Bulls Rookie Lauri Markkanen Makes History vs. Cavaliers

The Chicago Bulls are still one of a handful of winless teams in the NBA after losing another game to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night, but one of the team’s few bright spots made some history along the way.

That player is rookie Lauri Markkanen, who has come into the NBA firing on all cylinders as he looks to secure a spot in the team’s starting lineup. The rookie, who played his college ball at the University of Arizona, scored 19 points and hauled down eight rebounds in the game, and he set an NBA record in the process.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Markkanen became the first player in NBA history to make at least 10 three-pointers in his first three professional games.

The 7-foot-0 forward has made a living behind the three-point arc for the Bulls, knocking down 10 shots from beyond the arc so far in his NBA career. He’s making the three-pointers at a 45.5 percent clip, and 10 of the 17 field goals he’s made have been from long range.

The Bulls will next take the court on Thursday night when they take on the Atlanta Hawks at the United Center.
