- The Blackhawks will skate into Colorado tonight to face the Avalanche for the first time since the Avs ended the Hawks’ point streak last Friday. There has been plenty made of the revenge angle in this game, including this blog, but for a preview of the festivities, we’ll cede the floor to the in-depth one at the Committed Indian. - Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago got some good quotes from the Hawks today, including center Dave Bolland and head coach Joel Quenneville. She also made sure to include that Ray Emery will be starting in net despite Corey Crawford having back-to-back solid games for Chicago. [CSN Chicago]
- John Tranchina got some interesting quotes for his game story on the Blackhawks’ dismantling of Dallas on Saturday night. The highlight is probably Patrick Kane discussing his filthy goal (which we’ll include a video of at the end of this post:
“I knew the score was kind of up there a little bit, so I thought I’d have fun with it. I guess it would have been a little nicer if the goal was a big goal.”

- Bob Verdi lived up to his role as Blackhawks Historian with an intriguing look at the Hawks’ two goaltenders, Ray Emery and Corey Crawford. He included some anecdotes about what teams did when they carried only one goaltender, and told the stories of Walter “Gunzo” Humeniuk and Lefty Wilson, emergency goalies who represented the Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings, respectively, during the 1950’s. - Finally, in the eyes of Corey Masisak and his fellow voters at NHL.com, Patrick Kane is the best right winger in the NHL, while Marian Hossa is third. James Neal might feel a bit slighted by this ranking, we would imagine. [NHL.com]
