Eloy Jiménez Homers on His Bobblehead Night as White Sox Win

Eloy Jiménez celebrated his bobblehead night with a home run, and Reynaldo López pitched six innings of shutout baseball as the Chicago White Sox beat the Oakland A’s on Saturday night.

López struck out three batters and walked three in the victory, throwing 106 total pitches in 6.1 innings of work.

Jiménez homered in the fifth inning, his 19th of the season, and Welington Castillo also drove in a run to help guide the White Sox to a win after falling to the A’s on Friday afternoon at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The A’s scored two runs in the ninth inning and had the bases loaded with two outs, but Alex Colomé struck out Khris Davis swinging to end the game and hand the White Sox a shutout win.

An error by third baseman Ryan Goins allowed two unearned runs to cross the plate in the ninth, and Colomé walked the bases loaded before getting out of a serious jam.

José Abreu collected a pair of base hits in the game, and Tim Anderson and Leury García each scored runs for the South Siders.

The two teams will play the rubber match of their three-game series on Sunday afternoon, with Lucas Giolito set to take on former Sox hurler Chris Bassitt.
