Eighth Grade Hoops Star Verbally Commits to DePaul

Skinner West Elementary School basketball standout Amari Bailey isn’t even in high school yet, but he’s already made up his mind on where he wants to play college basketball.

Bailey, who is already 6-foot-2, has verbally committed to play college hoops at DePaul University in Chicago:

“I’ve always wanted to play for my city, and I’m not too young to know that I wanna put it on for my city,” Bailey told Meanstreets basketball.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Bailey and his mother Johanna Leia are both stars on the Lifetime reality series “Bringing Up Ballers,” which features five Chicago-area kids who are among the most elite young basketball players in the country.
