Dearica Hamby Breaks Sky Fans' Hearts With Incredible Shot

The shot sent the Sky home for the season

The Chicago Sky had a chance to advance to the WNBA semifinals on Sunday, but instead they find themselves heading home for the year after a staggering shot found the bottom of the hoop.

The Sky were leading 92-90 in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Aces when they inbounded the ball. When Courtney Vandersloot tried to make a pass up the court, it was picked off by Dearica Hamby, and even though there was still time on the clock to get a closer shot, she fired one up from well beyond the three-point arc.

What happened next is hard to explain:

Despite taking a wild and off-balance shot with seven seconds remaining on the clock, Hamby was rewarded when the ball went in, and the Aces took a 93-92 lead.

The Sky were unable to knock through a game-winner of their own, and they were sent home for the year with the defeat.

Las Vegas will now take on former Sky star Elena Della Donne and the Washington Mystics in the WNBA semifinals.
