Cubs Announce Postseason Ticket Sale Procedures

Chicago Cubs fans looking to purchase tickets for potential playoff games at Wrigley Field will soon have their chance, but it will come at a price.

The team announced Thursday that fans hoping to buy tickets to a potential National League Wild Card Game or Divisional Series game at the Friendly Confines will need to register for a random drawing for the opportunity to purchase seats.

That drawing will require fans to fill out a form and to submit a one-time refundable deposit of $50, the team said. Fans who are picked for the chance to buy tickets can use that $50 to apply toward the cost of their tickets, and fans who aren’t selected will have the money refunded, according to the club.

Fans who aren’t picked for either the wild card or Divisional Series round will still be eligible when drawings open for the National League Championship Series and World Series.

Fans are only allowed to purchase tickets once during the postseason and can only purchase a maximum of four seats if they are selected.

All tickets will be delivered via Major League Baseball’s mobile app.

The registration deadline for tickets to the wild card and divisional rounds is Sept. 23 at noon.
