Tyrone Corbin, #23 of the Toronto Raptors, looks on from the bench during the game against the Los Angeles Clippers at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California on Jan. 2, 2001.

A DePaul star from the past thinks he might be the answer to that school's future.

Tyrone Corbin told the Deseret News he would be interested in the men's head basketball coaching job at his alma mater, but said he hasn't talked with Athletic Director Jean Lenti-Pontsetto.

"We won't disrupt someone else's program by interviewing one of their coaches," Lenti-Pontsetto told NBC Chicago

Even though Corbin sits on Jerry Sloan's bench as an assistant with the Utah Jazz, the interview process will begin at the same time for everyone interested.

"They'll be coaching in the Big East, against a Hall of Fame coach every night," Lenti-Pontsetto said of the hiring of her third men's basketball coach in Lincoln Park.

That should weed out some candidates, although Lenti-Pontsetto said she won't rule out anyone already on the Blue Demons staff.

"We know we have to hit a home run this time around," he said.

Watch for the interview "process" to begin when the Blue Demons' season ends.
