As promised, Madhouse Enforcer is proud to present Hawks Headlines, a series of posts designed to track down the latest news surrounding the Chicago Blackhawks. We’ll also have random videos and stories that can be found around the web, so if you’re ever wanting to get your Hawks fix, you have to look no further than right here.

-Today’s edition of Hawks Headlines has a heavy emphasis on the team’s younger players, and with good reason. Guys like Brandon Saad, Marcus Kruger, and Andrew Shaw have been huge catalysts for the team, and the last guy on that list was the subject of an interesting profile by ESPN’s Scott Powers. -Tracey Myers has coverage of the Hawks’ young guns as well, with coverage of Saad and Shaw as well as defenseman Nick Leddy, who finally looks as though he is fully embracing his role as a lethal scoring defenseman. [CSN Chicago]

-Rick Emerith also keeps the young guy theme in mind with his latest piece on Saad’s chances at winning the Calder Trophy as the league’s top rookie. [The Hockey Writers]

-Rostislav Olesz, whom we profiled yesterday on the blog, was named the AHL’s Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in helping the Rockford IceHogs secure all eight available points last week as they continue to chase a playoff berth. [AHL]

-Finally, Reed Schreck had an interesting profile on Blackhawks prospect Adam Clendening, who talked about the process of growing more comfortable with his game:

“On the ice, the game has come a little bit easier night in and night out over the course of the year. Part of it is playing every night and getting more comfortable.”

The rest of the piece features a couple of comments from IceHogs team captain Martin St. Pierre, who is impressed with the youngster’s play this season. [Rockford Register Star]
