The Chicago Blackhawks are having trouble keeping the puck out of their net, but the team could be getting a big addition back to help in that endeavor.
After the team’s practice on Wednesday, head coach Joel Quenneville said that the team is still expecting to get goaltender Corey Crawford back next week, and that he could play Thursday in a game against the Arizona Coyotes.
Crawford, who has been participating in practices with the team, will not travel up to Minnesota, but will continue to rehab in Chicago ahead of the Oct. 18 game.
Meanwhile, goaltender Anton Forsberg suffered a hand injury during practice Wednesday, but is expected to be okay ahead of Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
The Blackhawks also recalled forward Alexandre Fortin, as Andreas Martinsen remains sidelined with a back injury. A timetable on his return is unknown, but Quenneville doesn’t believe the injury is serious.
Finally, defenseman Henri Jokiharju missed Wednesday’s practice with flu-like symptoms, but is expected to suit up against the Wild.
Puck drop between the Blackhawks and Wild is set for 7 p.m. Thursday night.
