After moving trading back with the Columbus Blue Jackets as part of the Seth Jones deal, the Blackhawks have selected defenseman Nolan Allan with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. 

Allan, 18, registered two points (one goal, one assist) in 16 games this season with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League. He also had five points (two goals, three assists) in five games while on loan with the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Swedish Hockey League.

Allan compiled two points (one goal, one assist) in seven games for Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Allan is listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, carries a left-handed shot and is considered to be a physical, two-way defenseman. He was ranked No. 40 on the NHL's Central Scouting Rankings among North American skaters.
