Rob Gronkowski Officially Ruled Out for Patriots vs. Bears

Gronkowski was listed as questionable with a back issue

The Chicago Bears caught a huge break, as the New England Patriots will be playing without one of their most important players.

After tght end Rob Gronkowski, who was listed as questionable with a back injury on the Patriots’ final injury report Friday, did not travel with the team to Chicago, he was officially ruled out due to the ailment.

Gronkowski is one of Tom Brady’s primary targets for the Patriots, racking up 26 catches for 405 yards and a touchdown in six games so far this season. He is a matchup nightmare for defenses because of his size, but now Brady and company will be left to play without him.

Wide receivers Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman, and Chris Hogan will all likely get more targets as a result of Gronkowski's absence.
