Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould has a strained left calf, limiting his ability to take long kicks at Minnesota.
Gould was hurt during warm-ups. He was kicking midrange field goals shortly before the game started without trouble, but punter Adam Podlesh handled the opening kickoff. The Bears reached the Vikings 35-yard line late in the first quarter, and Podlesh came out to punt. Gould made the extra point after Chicago's second-quarter touchdown.
Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton limped off in the first quarter and was taken to the locker room on a cart. He returned in the second quarter but then hurt his shoulder, and his return was announced as questionable. Backup defensive end Shea McClellin was also injured in the second quarter, and his return with a knee injury was questionable.
The Bears were already missing three defensive starters: nose tackle Stephen Paea, linebacker Brian Urlacher and cornerback Tim Jennings.
