Thibodeau Not Expecting Bulls to Make Any Trades at Deadline

With Thursday being the trade deadline, Tom Thibodeau expects the Bulls to stick with what they have

With Thursday being the NBA’s trade deadline, there are plenty of rumors and potential deals swirling around the league; none of which involve the Chicago Bulls. Tom Thibodeau said prior to Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors that he would be shocked if the team made a trade.

"Yeah, I would," he said. "You just lock into what you have. It doesn’t seem like there’s a whole lot of movement, so I feel real good about the guys we do have."

This is the time of year where every general manager’s phone rings non-stop, but Thibodeau says he’s spoken with Gar Forman and John Paxson and nothing seems imminent on the trade front in Chicago.

"I talked to Gar and John just to see what their take is. That’s about it," the head coach said.

The Bulls pulled off a major deal in January when they traded Luol Deng to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They also shipped second-year point guard Marquis Teague to the Brooklyn Nets as well.

And while there has been some speculation that both Kirk Hinrich and Mike Dunleavy Jr. could be moved, with the team three games above .500 and in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings, they appear to be positioning themselves for a strong push for the third seed and a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
