Dunleavy Responds to Cousins' “Clown” Comment

A day after Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins called him a clown, Mike Dunleavy had some things of his own to say

Mike Dunleavy Jr. isn’t the type to wear costumes. Not even on Halloween.

So when Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins called him a "clown" on Monday night, Dunleavy found it funny.

"He called me a clown? I would like to respond but clowns can't talk. So I'll mime or make him some animal balloons or something," he quipped.

The issue between the two players started when Cousins was ejected for elbowing Dunleavy in the head when he played for the Milwaukee Bucks last season. On Monday, in what was a physical game between the Bulls and Kings, the two players seemed to renew their “rivalry.”

"Oh, man. That's the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black. Honestly, I've never been called that before. I guess there's a first time for everything," Dunleavy said before adding that the real issue is Cousins’ temperament and reputation for being a hothead.

"His reputation speaks for itself," he said. "He has a short fuse and is easily irritated. You can't really breathe on the guy without him flipping out. That kind of stuff happens. He's susceptible to that and probably will be for the rest of his career. I haven't had any issues with anybody in this league. I'm just going to leave it at that."

The Kings will play the Bulls at the United Center on March 15.
