Cavaliers Use Late Surge to Beat Bulls in Summer League Action

The Cavaliers used a 16-1 run in the fourth quarter to close out the Bulls

The Chicago Bulls held a four-point lead in the fourth quarter of their NBA Summer League game on Sunday night, but they couldn’t hold on as the Cleveland Cavaliers used a 14-0 run to score an 82-75 victory in Las Vegas.

The loss drops the Bulls to 1-1 on the summer league slate this season, and the win was the first for the Cavaliers this season.

Mychal Mulder led the Bulls with 18 points, and he added four rebounds and a pair of assists in the losing effort. Coby White had a strong game at both ends of the floor, as he scored 15 points, pulled down six rebounds, and dished out five assists. He did have seven turnovers however as the Bulls fell to the Cavaliers.

Daniel Gafford chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds for the Bulls in their second summer league game.

Naz Mitrou-Long had a monster game for the Cavaliers, with 21 points and eight assists in 27 minutes of action. He also pulled down five rebounds for good measure. Dean Wade and JaCorey Williams each contributed 11 points to the cause for the Cavaliers.

The Bulls held a four-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Cavaliers stormed back over the final minutes of the game, closing out the contest on a 16-1 run before the Bulls added a couple of late baskets.

The Bulls won’t have much time to lick their wounds, as they will face the New Orleans Pelicans in Summer League action on Monday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., and the game will air on NBA TV.
