Blackhawks Ink Reese Johnson to 3-Year Contract

Johnson has 45 points in 62 games with the Red Deer Rebels this season

The Chicago Blackhawks have added more depth to their forward corps, as they’ve signed Reese Johnson to a three-year entry level contract.

Johnson, who is currently playing for the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels, will remain with his junior team, where he’s racked up 22 goals and 23 assists in 62 games so far this season.

The deal with pay Johnson an average of $925,000 per season through the 2021-22 campaign, the Blackhawks said in a press release.

Johnson is the captain of the Rebels, and has 50 goals and 42 assists in 182 career WHL games.

His contract will not officially begin until next season.
