Artur Kayumov poses for a portrait after being selected 50th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2016 NHL Draft on June 25, 2016 in Buffalo, New York.

Chicago Blackhawks 2016 second round draft pick Artur Kayumov has been suspended for 13 games after an illegal check to the head of an opponent.

Kayumov, who currently plays for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL, also punched an official during the fracas that followed the hit, which took place earlier this week:

Kayumov has scored four goals and dished out seven assists for his team this season, but will have to sit out for a long stretch after the violent hit, which caused his ejection from the game.
