The Chicago Bears have made it through training camp and preseason, and the team has officially set its 53-man roster for the season-opening game against the Green Bay Packers.

There weren’t a ton of surprises for the Bears as they set their roster, but there were some interesting choices made in the process of cutting a 90-man roster down to 53 players. Former draft picks Jonathan Bullard, Stephen Denmark, and Kylie Fitts were all waived by the Bears, as was wide receiver Tanner Gentry.

Tight end Jesper Horsted, who turned heads in the preseason, was also waived, and offensive lineman Alex Bars, who impressed scouts and coaches throughout camp, was also trimmed from the roster.

Here is the full Bears’ roster:

    Offense –

    Quarterbacks: Chase Daniel, Mitchell Trubisky

Offensive Line: Rashaad Coward, James Daniels, Ted Larsen, Charles Leno Jr., Kyle Long, Cornelius Lucas, Bobby Massie, Cody Whitehair

Running Backs: Tarik Cohen, Mike Davis, David Montgomery, Kerrith Whyte Jr.

Tight Ends: Ben Braunecker, Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen, Bradley Sowell

Wide Receivers: Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Cordarrelle Patterson, Riley Ridley, Allen Robinson II, Javon Wims

    Defense -

Cornerbacks: Prince Amukamara, Kyle Fuller, Duke Shelley, Buster Skrine, Kevin Toliver

Defensive Line:  Abdullah Anderson, Eddie Goldman, Akiem Hicks, Bilal Nichols, Roy Robertson-Harris, Nick Williams

Linebackers: Leonard Floyd, Isaiah Irving, Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Matt Kwiatkoski, Aaron Lynch, Khalil Mack, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Roquan Smith, Danny Trevathan, Josh Woods

Safeties: Deon Bush, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, DeAndre Houston-Carson, Eddie Jackson, Sherrick McManis

Pat O’Donnell, Eddy Pineiro, Patrick Scales

The Bears have waived the following players:

Daryle Banfield, Alex Bars, Matt Betts, Ian Bunting, Jonathan Bullard, Josh Caldwell, Jalen Dalton, Stephen Denmark, Tomy Doles, Clifton Duck, Kylie Fitts, John Franklin III, Tanner Gentry, Marvin Hall, Chuck Harris, Jonathan Harris, Jesper Horsted, Thomas Ives, Doyin Jibowu, Michael Joseph, Joe Lowery, Jordan McCray, Jonatahn Mincy, Taquan Mizzell Sr., Sam Mustipher, Ryan Nall, Ellis Richardson, Jameer Thurman, Marquez Tucker, James Vaughters, Joe Walker, Jordan Williams-Lambert, John Wirtel

The Bears also cut quarterback Tyler Bray, and placed offensive lineman Blake Blackmar and tight end Dax Raymond on season-ending injured reserve.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, teams will learn whether they were successful in any waiver wire claims, but the Bears are far down the list of teams who can claim players thanks to their 12-4 season a year ago.

The Bears will also be able to sign free agents beginning Sunday afternoon, and the team could potentially look at wide receiver and offensive line depth.

The Bears will also be able to set their practice squad beginning on Sunday.
