Dodgers Beat Nationals, Will Face Cubs in NLCS

It took bringing in Clayton Kershaw from the bullpen, but the Los Angeles Dodgers finished off the Washington Nationals 4-3 on Thursday night to set up an NLCS showdown with the Chicago Cubs.

The Nationals originally led the game 1-0, but the Dodgers scored four runs in the top of the 7th inning, with a Joc Pederson home run and a Justin Turner triple doing most of the damage.

The Nationals roared back into the game in the bottom of the inning, as Chris Heisey smacked a two-run home run into the left field bleachers to make it a 4-3 contest.

The Dodgers then brought in closer Kenley Jansen, who finished both the seventh and eighth innings of the game. Jensen got one out in the ninth, and then Kershaw came in and nailed down his first career save to send the Dodgers to the next round of the postseason.

The Cubs have played the Dodgers in the postseason once before, with the Dodgers earning a sweep during the 2008 NLDS.

The series will get started on Saturday night at Wrigley Field, with first pitch scheduled for 7:08 p.m. The game will air on FS1.
