Wade Davis Blows First Save as Cubs Fall to Brewers

The Chicago Cubs had two chances to beat the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, and Wade Davis couldn't get the job done as the Brewers walked off with a 4-3 victory at Miller Park.

Davis gave up a solo home run to Orlando Arcia in the bottom of the ninth inning to allow the Brewers to tie things up, and then with another lead in the bottom of the tenth he surrendered a two-run bomb to Travis Shaw to blow the lead late.

The Cubs had taken the lead back in the tenth inning when Jon Jay singled to center to drive in Ian Happ, but it wasn't enough as they lost for just the second time in their last 11 games.

The loss pulls the Brewers back to within four and a half games of the division lead with just seven games left in their season, and the Cubs' magic number to clinch the Central remains unchanged at five.
