Milwaukee Distillery Mocks Cubs With ‘L-Flag Bourbon'

The rivalry between the Cubs and Brewers just took an interesting new turn

A Milwaukee distillery was stymied in its efforts to purchase an “L” flag from the Chicago Cubs, but that hasn’t stopped them from having some fun with one of baseball’s hottest rivalries.

In the least surprising news of all time, the Central Standard Craft Distillery is run by huge Milwaukee Brewers fans, and with the teams set to renew acquaintances this weekend, the distillery has unveiled a limited edition “L Flag Bourbon:”

The story behind the beverage is perhaps even more fun than the drink itself. According to the distillery, they tried to purchase the “L” flag that flew above Wrigley Field on the afternoon that the Brewers beat the Cubs in a one-game playoff to clinch the National League Central title last season.

The company offered the Cubs a $1,000 charitable donation for the flag, but were turned down, according to multiple reports.

In response, the distillery commissioned its own “L” flag, and developed a bourbon that it is selling in honor of this weekend’s series between the two Central Division rivals.

The limited edition drink is only available at the distillery, and retails for $30.
