Joshua Houston struck out five in five innings, and Chicago's Jackie Robinson West beat Pearland, Texas, 6-1, in an elimination game in the Little League World Series on Tuesday night.

Chicago will face the loser of Wednesday's game between Las Vegas and Philadelphia on Thursday night. Pearland has been eliminated.

Houston threw 67 pitches and gave up just four hits before Marquis Jackson relieved him in the sixth.

Chicago backed its starter with two three-run innings.

Jackson singled to open the scoring in the first inning, driving in tournament star Pierce Jones, who went 0-for-2 with a walk. A Pearland error and fielder's choice allowed Chicago to score two more runs in the inning

Jackie Robinson West's three-run fourth inning was highlighted by Houston, who drove in two runs with a double to the warning track.

Pearland's lone run was scored on Joshua Gabino's double in the third inning.

The players' relatives who traveled to Williamsport were ecstatic following the game.

"6 to 1, all the way to the end, it's real important we live to fight another day," parent Alvin Jones said.

"Unfortunately we have to come out of the loser's bracket, but we're putting wins together in bunches," said Craig Mathis, a brother of one of the players.

"I'm excited for the city of Chicago, the state of Illinois, there's just a lot going on right now, so I'm super excited," manager Darold Butler said.

The crowds also were out at Chicago's Jackie Robinson Park to witness another win on the big screen.

This team's resiliency isn't lost on 10-year-old Josh Bell.

"You learn about life, that's what it's about, someone pushes you down you have get right back up be strong," Bell said.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel was also there, taking his customary seat in the park for the big game.

"When parents make the commitment, a community comes together, it shows you what kids can accomplish," Emanuel said.

Jackie Robinson West will play the loser of Wednesday's game between Nevada -- who they lost to Sunday -- and Pennsylvania on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.
